A One-Eyed Dog Stole The Show At This Family Photoshoot!

A couple of months ago, I accidentally rear-ended the Hubbards. That, in turn, actually led to me booking a photoshoot of this adorable family. Apparently, a car crash must be a good business strategy, because I got to meet up with the Hubbards again on Tuesday — but this time I was booked by Ryan Hubbard’s mother, Trude!

This photoshoot was for Trude and her grandbabies — all three of them! Kaden, Ella, and Chase!

And that’s where I met Gus — the one-eyed goldendoodle. He was the star of the show — and it was love at first lick! He had eye cancer, but removing his eye saved his life!

We met at Faust Park in Chesterfield — a location Trude liked from our Top 10 Photoshoot Locations in Kansas City list! It’s right by the Butterfly House, and also has a lake, flowers, butterflies flitting around, and a playground! We didn’t hit up the rustic barns that are on the property, but those are there, too!

Ella acted shy at first, but she warmed up to me. Leave it to kids to be honest — when I asked her if she remembered me, she gave me a curt “no!” Although, I think I jogged her memory when I told her to say “Minnie Mouse!” instead of “Cheeeese!” at the camera. She’s so cute!

Chase, my man, did remember me. And promised to give me big ol’ grins for the camera. He delivered! I didn’t take a picture of this, but we also found this cool bug shell we played with for a little bit by the playground. I mean, that’s one way to bond with kids, right? Play with bug shells?!

This was my first time meeting Kaden — he’s a sophomore at Parkway South. And don’t worry, I already made him promise me he’d book me for senior photos! 🙂

I am so happy I was able to work with this family again — and meet some more of them!
